Nice at Night, Part Deux

After a fun afternoon in Monaco, we sought culinary inspiration from our Viking concierge. After querying us for our price and taste preferences, he quickly selected “Le Bistro Gourmand”, but more importantly offered to telephone for reservations, adding, “I will do the talking”. Upon our arrival we were shown to our table by a kind gentleman that turned out to be the chef.

Once seated, we quickly settled upon the seasonal tasting menu insisting of three delectable courses, with a separate cheese plate of course. The most impressive both in taste and presentation was Jen’s turbot. Accompanying each of the food courses came delightful and sometimes surprising wine pairings.

Le Bistro Gourmand was truly one of the most enjoyable culinary experiences we have ever had. After dinner, we wrapped up evening two with a stroll through the center of the old town, pausing to snap a few pictures and enjoying a nightcap at a sidewalk cafe. One final full day in Nice to come!
