Day 1 of any cruise is typically exciting (except that you remember how much you hate tendering and/or being on a motor coach), but for us, longtime fans of the Sauternes appellation, this was sure to be special. After a brief stop in Cadillac, which was interesting to learn the connection between the car and the town, we were on our way for our first Château!
We arrived at the beautiful Chateau Guiraud. Seeing and hearing the production process for the classic Sauterne was a delight. Hearing people state they don’t like sweet wine was not. Such a unique process and terroir. We left with two bottles in hand and visions of foie gras in our heads.
Back to the vessel in the City of Bordeaux for more food and wine aboard the Forseti.
