After finally getting some cruising in we strutted down the gangway in Libourne. The morning included a leisurely walk around the town square and beautiful back streets. We perused the goods (why there were so many socks and underwear remains a mystery) at the outdoor weekly market. The whole time we were anxious to move on with the itinerary that included a stop at a chateaux for lunch and wine tasting.
As lunch time approached, we boarded the coach and set course for Château Siaurac, in nearby Néac, France. There we enjoyed a wonderful lunch and tasted 6 of the château’s first and second label wines. When the smoke cleared we had our first half case on it’s way to Texas!
After our chateaux visit we continued on to Saint-Emilion for the remainder of the afternoon. We were admittedly exhausted, so after an hour or so seeing the upper and lower portions of the town we parked ourselves on a bench and waited for the coach to whisk us back to the boat for the evening.
